FIRST LIGHT
Elokim saw Et Ha-or the light that it was good” (Gen.1.4)

The Gematria of Et Ha-or is 613, corresponding to the 613 Mitzvoth of the Torah.
The Torah is light, and the 613 commandments constitute the light of Torah. (Sifte Kohen)

The first light is not that of the sun nor of the moon nor of the heavenly bodies, for they are created on the fourth day. The first light is the light of consciousness that emanates from the darkness of the unconscious.

The light of consciousness is good as distinct from the darkness of the unconscious which is evil. The divine goal of humanity is the attainment of elevated spiritual consciousness that is all good. The means to this end is the 613 Mitzvoth of the Torah.

The three of 613 signifies the three aspects of mind, the intuitive, the rational and the human mind as the synthesis of these opposites.
Six represents the six stages in the formation of thought and relates to the six days of primal creation.
One represents the final culmination of elevated thought with harmony of body and spirit on the Shabbat.

6+1+3=10, corresponding to the ten divine statements for universal creation - that is, the creation of universal mind.
